If you look at Instagram these days you might think yoga is about being a contortionist. While there are some “pretzel-like poses” that can be accomplished with a very warmed up, advanced  and flexible body, yoga is not about that. 

Yoga is about you and what you need or want from it.

Here’s a very short history lesson:

Yoga was originally passed down from a master yoga instructor for one-on-one specialized and individualized practice for each student for their specific body, health, and lifestyle. Some people need an invigorating practice (vinyasa)  while some yogis need and want a calming practice (restorative). Yoga is about what is best for you, period.

Private yoga sessions with me are tailored to your goals; physical, mental, and spiritual while also taking into consideration where you currently are in life.

How is yoga different from other forms of fitness and stretching? In yoga we move with the breath, which helps govern our attention inward where the real magic of yoga happens, cultivating internal change of attitude, perspective and outlook on life. The asana (postures) become a dance within the whole body and you breathe in every pose. 

Did you know the majority of my clients are over the age of 40? 

I have found that many of my clients have lost themselves along the way as their lives changed and new responsibilities were presented such as parents, businesswoman, or caregiver.

By incorporating yoga into their lives they are finding more patience, calmness, and even rediscovering beautifully toned and tightened muscles, and gentle weight loss.

My philosophy is: The more you connect on the mat, you'll see connection in your own life. When you breathe through the challenges with compassion on the mat, you’ll be able to have more compassion off the mat.

Yoga is life changing and that’s serious business but I promise it will be fun if you don’t take yourself so seriously. I like to have fun, laugh and take things lightly. If you feel the same then we can definitely work together.
